There are so many ways to volunteer and share in the wonder of a wish. Plan a fundraiser, office support, serve at an event, sendoff families on their wish adventure…and much more. Whether you have one hour, a week or a few hours to give each month, we invite you to become a volunteer and share in the experience of giving. Volunteers are at the heart of our organization.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Indiana Wish Volunteer Day
Join us for Indiana Wish Volunteer Day and lend a hand as we gear up for the holiday season and close out another fantastic year of granting wishes! We’ll be preparing our Year-End Letter, personalizing Christmas cards, unloading a special delivery of toys, and wrapping items for our annual Christmas in the Kitchen event. There are plenty of tasks to go around, so we’d love your help with these and other office needs.
Bring your energy and holiday spirit—together, we’ll make this season a little brighter for our wish families. We can’t wait to see you there!
Christmas in the Kitchen
Plan to join us on December 12, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis for Christmas in the Kitchen presented by Wallington Asset Management, LLC!
It will be a one-of-a-kind experience! Go behind the scenes of chef’s domain and enter the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis kitchen to sample an extravaganza of both unique and familiar foods!
Looking for Other Ways to Volunteer?
Office Help
We have various tasks for those who wish to help in the office during business hours. Some regular office tasks involve writing thank-you notes to our donors, data entry, bookkeeping, filing, assisting with wish paperwork and preparing mailings, only to name a few.
Transportation
Volunteers are needed to assist in dropping off and picking up auction items for our events. Having reliable transportation is necessary.
Annual Gala
One of our biggest events of the year, the annual dinner auction, is great fun and requires a lot of assistance from our volunteers. We need people to help with decorating, soliciting silent auction items, organizing, and recording items, assisting with the program, and much more.
Photographers/Videographers
Photographers and videographers are usually needed to capture the wish experience and fundraising events. Time commitment is as needed.
Fundraising
This area is for individuals who are interested in all aspects of the areas of fundraising by being apart of one of our committees. Professional sales experience and speaking experience are desired but not required.
Help From Home
If you cannot spend much time away, here’s a chance to help from home. We sometimes have special projects that our volunteers can take home. These can vary from stuffing and labeling envelopes to making phone calls.
Handy People / Tradespeople / Artists
Volunteers are needed to assemble, construct, design, install and create items for wishes, events and office projects.
Meeters & Greeters
Volunteers needed to meet children at the airport on the way to and returning from their wish trips. Must be willing to go to the airport at early hours for send-off and varying times for return. Familiarity with the airport is a plus, but not required. Time commitment is ongoing and as needed.
Professional Expertise
